Thought of the Week
“I am a hole in a flute that the Christ’s breath moves through…listen to this music.”—Hafez
Hafez was a Persian lyric poet of the 14th century. His collected works (Divan) are to be found in the homes of most Iranians, who learn his poems by heart and use them as proverbs and sayings to this day. His life and poems have been the subject of much analysis, commentary and interpretation, and have influenced Persian writing more than anything else has.
