Chaplain-In-Residence - Copley 226
Anne-Elisabeth Giuliani serves as a Chaplain-in-Residence in Copley Hall. Before coming to the United States in 1990, she studied medicine and linguistics in France. At Georgetown, her past endeavors have included doctoral studies in American History, a position as full-time Associate Chaplain, and adjunct teaching posts. She received her formation in theology and spirituality at the Studium of Notre-Dame de Vie (near Avignon, France), and continues to be involved with this international theological center rooted in the tradition of the great Carmelite saints and mystics. Her collaboration with Jesuits as well as her commitment to inter-religious dialogue almost span three decades in Europe and the United States. Her own work focuses on the spiritual formation of the laity in the context of the new evangelization, the spirituality of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, and the developments of Christian spirituality since Vatican II. Over her years in Washington, she has led a variety of pastoral and liturgical programs, prayer groups, retreats, as well as interfaith and intercultural initiatives at Georgetown and beyond. She enjoys working in a residence hall, striving to foster an atmosphere of faith, joy, and inner freedom conducive to students' intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.
