Mohammed Al-Adeeb is a Chaplain in Residence in Harbin Hall. His graduate education includes independent instruction under leading American Muslim scholars on topics of faith and theology, as well as coursework in Classical Arabic, Quranic Interpredation and Recitation, Mysticism, and Prophetic Characteristics. He studied both in Berkeley, CA and Amman, Jordan. He has worked in Washington, D.C. for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) initiating interfaith dialogue with national and locally based groups, and creating a faith-based website to combat domestic violence, to name a few of the capacities at CAIR. He co-founded a youth leadership program that focuses on empowering Muslim youth to get involved in government and public service, first of its kind in the United States. He also served as a Youth Religious Mentor for the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California during which time he mentored and counseled students. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and will complete his M.A. in Government next May 2010.
