Rick Curry, S.J.

Chaplain-In-Residence - LXR G02

Rick Curry

Brother Rick Curry, S.J. has been a Jesuit for 46 years.  He recently was ordained a deacon and will be ordained a priest this September. Since 1977, Rick has been the Founder/Artistic Director of The National Theatre Workshop of the Handicapped (NTWH), an international theatre arts-training institution for persons with physical disabilities. NTWH’s goals include advocating for persons with disabilities in the theatre, challenging the exclusion of disabled students from existing theatre programs, and providing students with communication and job-training skills that empower them to contribute to their communities (www.ntwh.org).  Rick also established an Academy for Veterans of Iraq and which ministers to those who have lost limbs and are suffering with post-traumatic syndrome.  This Wounded Warriors Academy helps thousands of men and women confront their suffering and loss with the help of art and prayer.  Rick’s pastoral experiences as a Jesuit are vast and varied, and include serving as a Chaplain in Residence at St. Joseph’s University for five years. He holds a Ph.D. in theatre from New York University.
