Dahlgren Chapel Organ

"In the Latin Church the pipe organ is to be held in high esteem, for it is the traditional musical instrument which adds a wonderful splendor to the Church's ceremonies and powerfully lifts up one's mind to God and to higher things." Vatican II, Sacrosanctum Concilium, article 120.

Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart
Bedient Pipe Organ, Opus 28

The Bedient Pipe Organ housed in Georgetown University's Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart was built in 1989 as a gift of the Landegger family.  It is a neo-Baroque instrument; built upon the principles of late 18th century instruments found in Germany and France.  Unfortunately, due to the organ's design, style and placement, it is only used for non-choral Masses.
