RENEW

RENEW is a Catholic small faith sharing group. Depending on what time works best for your schedule, you will be placed in a RENEW group along with 6-8 other students and one to two group leaders.

Each semester, RENEW discussions are structured around a faith booklet. This booklet places a special emphasis on the liturgical readings of the Sunday mass. Of course, the book does more than just present the readings. It includes aspects such as "prayer" and "call to action". More importantly, it helps each RENEW group focus on questions such as "How does this Sunday's word fit into my life?"

Because of the small group sizes, members of RENEW form a secure trust network with other RENEW members. The booklet is used as a guideline to direct group discussions, allowing group members to reflect on certain life experiences. Often, this faith-sharing produces close friendships within each group.

RENEW has a "call to action" service aspect. Each group will decide how they want to fulfill this goal, whether it be a volunteer service project or attending a mass together.

Throughout the year, RENEW coordinates several social events. Last semester, group members gathered for a picnic on Dahlgren Quad. Such events provide an opportunity for additional fellowship and fun!

RENEW is not a huge time commitment- one hour, once a week--that's it! The program is a great way to de-stress, socialize, and focus on your faith!
