This retreat is geared toward helping participants recognize and grow in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ, deepen their prayer life, and discern and live out their deepest desires. The five-and-a-half days of silence are punctuated by Chaplain talks, daily individual spiritual direction, time for prayer and meditation, and Mass. Retreatants have ample time for relaxation and exploring the grounds of the retreat center. The Five-Day Ignatian Retreat is a great way to go deeper in faith and life.
Application: Because the format of this retreat is so unique, with a mixture of silence, prayer and spiritual guidance, those interested will be asked to provide a detailed description of why they would like to attend. The application will help ensure that everyone applying understands and is properly prepared for this style retreat. Campus Ministry will notify the applicants when they are accepted and/or if there are any further questions.
Eligibility: This program is by application only for Georgetown juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni. Spouses and non-degree GU students are invited to apply and will be considered on a space-available basis. Georgetown affiliation is required. Sophomores and non-Christians interested in the retreats are requested to contact Sr. Helen Scarry at (202) 687-5996 before applying.
