Join the Georgetown University Muslim Chaplaincy Islamic Learning Series (ILS) in a public lecture and seminar about the women of the Quran. Imam Yahya Hendi, a scholar of Islam, and member of the Islamic Jurisprudence Council of North America who is known widely as the "Feminist Imam" will shed light on women in Islam through a discussion and analysis of the women in the Quran. The seminar is on Tuesday, September 25th. dinner is served at 6pm and the lecture starts at 6:30pm sharp.

Imam Sayid Hassan al-Qazwini, a notable imam of the Shi'a tradition, will be joining the Georgetown University community on Monday, April 23rd from 5:00pm-6:00pm for dinner and a public lecture on social justice and world peacebuilding in Islam from 6:30pm-8pm including a Q&A.
Imam al-Qazwini is the leader of the largest masjid ('mosque') in the USA in Dearborn, Michigan, as well as the founder of Young Muslim Association. As a voice for Muslim Americans, he has spoken at hundreds of churches and educational institutions around the world.

Curious about the main themes of the Qur'an? If so, discover how to approach understanding the Qur'an. We will be exploring the 5 subjects of the Quran including its history, main themes, language, fiqh and jurisprudence, as well as dealing with what seems to sound problematic. Imam Yahya Hendi will further focus this seminar on modern interpretations of the Qur'an as well as the correct practices surrounding its handling and analysis. All brothers and sisters are welcome.

"Faith & Justice and Contemplation in Action" are not only part of Georgetown's Jesuit values but also Islamic ones. Come learn about how the Prophet Muhammad translated his faith into action through his sayings and practices, Hadith and Sunnah. This Islamic Seminar will focus on how to determine whether a hadith/sunnah is sound and accurate or doubted -- know the process of assessing what's authoritative or not. All brothers and sisters are welcome.

Please join the Muslim Students Association at My Big Fat Muslim Wedding. The event will explore the topics of love, relationships, and marriage in the Islamic tradition, focusing on the important question of how modern Muslim Americans relate these topics to their religious and spiritual beliefs. Various other religious and cultural student groups will also be presenting their side of the same story.
Dinner will be served at the event. There will even be a halal cocktail bar. The event is a black tie affair. Tickets will be sold in Red Square for $10 and will not be sold at the door.
