God’s Light and Love:
A Six-Week Retreat in Daily Life on Campus
Inspired by students’ desires to develop a deeper relationship with God, the God’s Light and Love Retreat is a six-week retreat in daily life on campus where students pray and journal every day with the encouragement and support of the community. Grounded in the spirituality of St. Ignatius, this retreat offers students opportunities to learn various methods of Ignatian prayer, such as imaginative prayer, Lectio Divina, and the Examen. Students pray with scripture every day and meet individually with Jesuits, chaplains, or other spiritual directors once a week for spiritual conversation. We begin and end the retreat on campus with opening and closing sessions where all retreatants come together as a community of faith, hope and love.
Please note: students who wish to make this six-week retreat for the first time are encouraged to experience the one-week Prayer in Daily Life retreat offered during the fall semester, dates for 2025 TBD. For more information on that retreat, please email Chaplain Michelle (siemietm@georgetown.edu).
