Rev. Ebony Grisom, Interim Director of Protestant Christian Ministry

Dear Members of the Georgetown Community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Ebony Grisom as Georgetown’s Interim Director of Protestant Christian Ministry. Rev. Grisom has held the position of Protestant chaplain with Georgetown University Campus Ministry since August 2019, ministering to both the law and main campuses.

Prior to coming to Georgetown, Rev. Grisom was the director of the Ecumenical Poverty Initiative in Washington, DC, building on her previous interfaith work on poverty reduction and striving to contribute the perspective of faith to matters of poverty and public policy.

Rev. Grisom received her Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education from Duke Divinity School in 2013. She completed a pastoral residency in Rhode Island, and was ordained in 2016.  Rev. Grisom also holds a Master of Arts in American History from Providence College and a Bachelor of Arts in African-American/African Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

We are deeply grateful that Rev. Grisom has agreed to lead our Protestant Christian Chaplaincy this year, deepening our ecumenical and interreligious understanding and collaboration, and accompanying students of all religious and non-religious identities in this extraordinary moment in our community.
