Hoya Family: Supporting One Another

I can’t believe it’s getting dark so early!Chaplains  The leaves are now off the trees and cold winds are blowing across Healy lawn.  This is a far cry from the sun-drenched scenes that Healy Tower looked upon when we began our academic year.  We’ve experienced so much these last three months that we can hardly process all that has happened.  We’ve had good days and bad days and just about everything in between.  How do we make sense of what has happened these last months, weeks, and days?  Am I finding meaning in my life here on the Hilltop?

We are quickly coming to the longest night of the year and the cold, dark of night can definitely become a metaphor for the way that some may be feeling at this time of the year.  Some may be preoccupied or upset by the fact that they feel they are not finding meaning in their lives at this time.  Some may even be falling into despair and feeling overwhelmed by all the tasks that have to get done before the end of the semester.

If you are feeling a bit out of sorts please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.  Your Georgetown Family is here to care for you body, mind, and soul.  We here in Campus Ministry are committed to your health and well being with every fiber of our collective beings.  We have made a commitment to you in the totality of who you are (Cura Personalis) and as such are here for you if you need assistance.  Our contact information is on this website so please don’t hesitate to call one of our chaplains (or Chaplains-in- Residence ) if needed.

And finally, I leave you with the words of famed French writer and philosopher Albert Camus, In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.”
